फिलिपिन्सले संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकासँगको एक सैनिक सम्झौतालाई रद्द गरेको छ। मनिलाले दुई देशबीचको सैन्य अभ्यास तथा तालिमसम्बन्धी सम्झौतालाई रद्द गरेको हो।
फिलिपिन्सका राष्ट्रपति रोड्रिगो दुतेर्तेले लामो समयदेखि सैन्य साझेदारको रूपमा रहेका अमेरिकाबाट टाढिने तथा चीनसँग नजिकिने धम्की दिँदै आएका थिए। फिलिपिनी विदेश मन्त्रालयले यसबारे अमेरिकालाई औपचारिक जानकारी दिइसकेको जनाएकोे छ।
सरकारी सूचना जारी भएको १ सय ८० दिनपछि सो सम्झौता स्वतः खारेज हुनेछ। अमेरिकाले फिलिपिन्सको यस कदमले दुई देशबीचको सम्बन्धमा महत्वपूर्ण असर पार्ने प्रतिक्रिया दिएको छ।
